Féron has evolved as a family-owned and operated company and we have always been a bit of that, a family. Starting with us as an apprentice and making a career at the company is not uncommon. Some of our colleagues tell us what it was like for them.

My career path at Féron

Lena Mund – Head of the HSEQ Division

      Tandem apprenticeship and evening school programme
      She started at Féron with the tandem apprenticeship programme to become an industrial clerk, during which she also completed a 4-year evening school programme to become a state-certified business administrator.

      Quality Management division
      At the end of her apprenticeship, she was appointed to the Quality Management division, where she was trained for three years by the division manager at the time, who was about to retire.

      Part of the management team
      When the quality manager retired, Lena succeeded her in this role and became part of the management team at Féron just one year after graduating as a state-certified business administrator.

      Personnel responsibilities
      She was joined by a former apprentice in her specialist area and took on her first personnel responsibilities.

      Head of the HSEQ Division
      Lena takes on overall responsibility for the Health – Safety – Environment – Quality Management division and reports directly to the CEO in this role. The area of occupational safety and the environment is integrated into her responsibilities. Effective February 1, 2025, two occupational safety specialists and an environmental management officer will report to her, in addition to QM support.

      Apprenticeship as industrial clerk
      In August 2000, he began an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Féron, which he completed in June 2002 with very good marks. Bernd spent more than 1/3 of his apprenticeship time in financial accounting.

      Specialising in financial and payroll accounting
      After completing his apprenticeship, he was then taken on as a clerk specialising in financial and payroll accounting.

      Trainer’s licence and certified HR specialist
      In October 2003, he obtained a trainer’s licence and in January 2005, he completed further training to become a certified HR specialist with CCI certification on top of it.

      HR consultant and trainer
      Subsequently, as an HR consultant, he took care of all matters relating to the company’s industrial employees: from recruitment to payroll to their departure. In parallel, he was responsible for the apprenticeship training of the industrial clerks.

      Honorary examiner
      Since February 2016, he has been working as an honorary examiner for industrial clerks at the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Düren area.

      Head of Human Resources
      In January 2020, he took over full responsibility for HR as Head of Human Resources.

      Head of Finance
      In July 2021, he also took over responsibility for financial accounting.

      Full procuration powers
      As Head of Human Resources & Finance, Bernd was granted full power of attorney/procuration powers in October 2022.

      In July 2023, he additionally took over Controlling on an interim basis.

      Effective December 01, 2024, he was appointed CFO & Head of HR. As such, 10 employees report directly to him.
